Summary

Money Board Plus is built to collect nothing. There is no account and no sign-in. Everything you enter — your transactions and their notes, categories, budgets, savings goals, and board layout — is stored on your iPhone and synced through your own private iCloud, using the Apple Account already signed in on your device. The app has no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no third-party code, and it connects to no service except Apple's iCloud, on your behalf and inside your own account. We have no server, and no way to read what is in your iCloud. The app's App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected."

What We Collect: Nothing

The app does not collect or sell your personal or financial information, and it gives us no access to anything you enter. Your entries move between your own devices through your private iCloud — they are never sent to us, and there is no server of ours to send them to. Because we cannot access that data, Apple's App Store privacy label for the app is "Data Not Collected." Money Board Plus is not directed to children, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

What the App Stores

The app saves your transactions (amount, type, date, currency, and any note you add), your categories, budgets, savings goals and the contributions you log with their notes, and the layout of your board. This is the information that syncs, described in the next section.

Two things stay on the device that created them and never sync: your app preferences — base currency, Hide Balances, App Lock, wallpaper, notification settings — and simple statistics about which board widgets you use, which let the app keep your most-used widgets in view. Set your preferences again on each iPhone you use.

"Erase All Data" removes every transaction, category, budget, savings goal, contribution, and your board layout from this device and from your iCloud, along with the widget statistics and any budget alerts already delivered to Notification Center. Your preferences stay as you set them, and the app starts again with its default categories and board.

iCloud Sync

Money Board Plus keeps your data current across the iPhones signed in to your Apple Account. Sync uses Apple's CloudKit and follows your iCloud settings — it runs whenever you are signed in to iCloud, and the app has no sync switch of its own. It also uses silent background notifications from Apple to learn when something has changed; these carry no content and never appear on your screen.

Your records go into the app's private CloudKit database inside your own iCloud account — not a database we control. We have no access to it: private databases are not visible to developers, including through Apple's own developer tools. We cannot read your data, restore it, or hand it to anyone. Apple stores and transfers it under your Apple Account, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and your iCloud terms, and it counts toward your iCloud storage.

To stop syncing, turn Money Board Plus off under your Apple Account in iOS Settings, or sign out of iCloud. The app keeps working with the data already on your iPhone.

Sync is not a backup. It mirrors what you have — delete a transaction on one iPhone and it disappears from the others. If you want a restore point, keep an iCloud or computer backup of your device.

Deleting the app removes the copy on your iPhone but not the copy in your iCloud; reinstall and your data returns. To remove the iCloud copy, use "Erase All Data" in the app's settings while you are signed in and online — it clears this device immediately and finishes clearing iCloud on the next sync.

How Your Data Is Stored and Protected

On your iPhone, the app's database sits in the app's private container, encrypted by iOS Data Protection and tied to your device passcode. It is unreadable until you unlock your iPhone for the first time after it restarts; from then on it stays available to the system even while the screen is locked, so that iCloud sync can keep running in the background. This is the standard protection iOS gives app databases that sync.

You can turn on an optional Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode lock for the app; this check is performed entirely by iOS through Apple's on-device authentication, and the app never receives your biometric information.

Like most iPhone apps, the app's database can also be included in the device backups you control — iCloud Backup or a computer backup. Backups are created and encrypted by iOS under your Apple Account, and we have no access to them. Excluding Money Board Plus from iCloud Backup keeps it out of that backup; it is a separate setting from iCloud sync and does not turn sync off.

Notifications

Money Board Plus can send an optional daily logging reminder and budget alerts. These are local notifications — created, scheduled, and delivered by your own iPhone, not by any server — and the app asks your permission before enabling them.

Alert text can include the name you gave a budget or category and, when you go over, the amount you are over by — for example, "You're $12.50 over your Groceries budget this month." That text can appear on your Lock Screen; you can control notification previews in iOS Settings. "Erase All Data" also clears any alerts the app has already delivered.

Third-Party Services

Money Board Plus includes no third-party SDKs, analytics, or advertising, and sends nothing to any service other than Apple's iCloud, inside your own account. The app is distributed through the App Store, which is governed by Apple's own privacy policy. Tapping "Privacy Policy" inside the app opens this page in your browser; the page is hosted on GitHub Pages, whose servers may log standard request information (such as your IP address) when serving any website. The App Store badge on our home page is loaded from Apple's servers, which likewise see standard request information when that page loads.

Data Retention & Your Rights

Because the app gives us none of your data, there is nothing for us to retain, share, or delete on our side; the only personal information we ever hold is an email you choose to send us. Your app data stays until you remove it. "Erase All Data" in the app's settings deletes it from this device and from your iCloud. Deleting Money Board Plus removes the copy on that iPhone but leaves the copy in your iCloud, so erase first if you want everything gone.

Since we collect no personal data, rights of access, correction, portability, and deletion under laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA are exercised on your own device and within your own Apple Account; for the copy Apple holds for you, Apple is the party to ask. We do not sell or share personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at this URL, and the date below shows when it last changed. Significant changes may also be noted in the app's release notes.
